Dark Bay Automotive was founded by Nick Southworth, a qualified vehicle technician with more than 15 years’ experience across main dealer, classic, specialist and low-volume automotive environments.

Starting his career with Jaguar Land Rover, Nick progressed from apprentice technician through technical and workshop roles before moving into classic restoration, bespoke vehicle builds and specialist automotive projects.

Dark Bay brings that experience together in a more personal and flexible way — providing independent automotive expertise to vehicle owners and buyers, alongside hands-on workshop and project support for specialist automotive businesses.

Whatever the vehicle or project, the approach is simple: understand it properly, communicate clearly and do the job well.
